What you should do to prepare for GMOD Malaysia 2014:
Register for an Amazon AWS account. Setting up the account is free, but you may be required to enter credit card details when you register. You will not incur any charges for Amazon AWS use during the course.
Learn basic skills in a command line text editor. The virtual machines we use (running Ubuntu) will have emacs, vim, and nano installed; you should know how to open, edit, save, and do a search-and-replace in one of those editors.
