Junjun Zhang

BioMart developer, Informatics and Biocomputing, Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR).

Prior to joining OICR, he worked in Dr. Steve Scherer lab at The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG), Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids) for more than 6 years. In Steve's lab, his major role was to develop bioinformatics tools for analyzing genomic data and building database systems. He had led or contributed to a variety of projects:

  • iPattern - a Copy-Number Variation calling algorithm using high density microarray data
  • Genome assembly comparison to identify structural variants in the human genome
  • BioXRT - a platform for developing online biological databases based on the Cross-Referenced Tables model
  • The Database for Genomic Variants (DGV)
  • eFISH - an in-silico Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) simulation web tool
  • TOCS - a web-based LIMS application for DNA Oligo Synthesis Facility at TCAG.
  • The Chromosome 7 Annotation Project
  • Human Genome Segmental Duplication Database
