I am currently working as a PhD Scholar under guidance of Dr. Shashi Bhushan Tripathi on various aspects of linkage and QTL mapping and genetic improvement in a major biodiesel crops of India,Jatropha curcas. I am more precisely working on QTL mapping in an advanced inter-specific population. Our lab has a good collection of research material in the form of mapping populations and advanced breeding lines derived from a cross between Jatropha curcas and Jatropha integerrima. I have also worked with various molecular markers like AFLP and SSR on vaious crops like tomato, chili, okra etc. Recently, our lab has also initiated work on Genotyping-by-Sequencing (GBS) SNP markers. Our lab aim at identification of QTLs for different agronomically important traits such as oil content, seed yield and disease resistance in these crops.
